HIVE & COB
Our Story
Hive & Cob, also known as Hive and Cob, is proudly made at Coolgardie Farm, which is a small family business based in the Coal Valley, Richmond, Tasmania. As beekeepers, we understand the true value of Tasmania’s unique Leatherwood forests and the rare honey they produce.
This exceptional Leatherwood honey is featured at the heart of our product Hive & Cob, for you to experience and enjoy.
We’ve been making our Leatherwood honey popcorn for well over 10 years, first for family, friends, and school fetes and fairs. It was after a very successful fair, Audrey insisted on taking our idea further. With a bit of spark and entrepreneurial drive, we turned a much-loved treat into a business. Today, Hive & Cob is stocked in stores across Tasmania and interstate, and you’ll also find us at our stall, site 81, at the iconic Salamanca Market.

Anita has been a beekeeper for over 12 years and is the founder of Tasmanian Junior Beekeepers and Australian Youth Beekeeping, and was the founder of Sister Hives Australia. In 2024, she completed a Churchill Fellowship to investigate youth beekeeping programs globally.

Audrey, still a student, has already been beekeeping for 8 years and proudly represented Australia at the International Meeting of Young Beekeepers. Audrey loves photography and has a very keen eye for detail, great for producing marketing material and of course our product Hive & Cob.

At Hive & Cob, we wanted to share Tasmania’s wild sweetness in a new way, something joyful, simple, and delicious.
